Swann Morton Handle Retractable (Size 3)

Swann-Morton Retractable safety scalpel supports and enhances safe passing procedures and protocols already practiced within the Operating Room and Theatres. 

Colour coded for ease of blade shape recognition the scalpels now feature a stronger temporary forward lock position to prevent uncontrolled retraction when contacting with bone during use, an additional notch to hold the blade more securely in the passing position and a rear permanent lock to be engaged prior to final disposal in a sharps container.

All these sizes are available in single peel sterile packs and a bulk non sterile format for the kit and tray packers.

Size B3 (0923) 

Ergonomically designed, the Stainless steel B3 also referred to as the "Barron" handle, (J.N.Barron, Salisbury), with it's smooth tapered octagonal body, offers precise fingertip control required for Hand surgery such as a Fasciectomy (removal of scar like tissue), peripheral nerve repair and surgery of the tendons and joints.

Can also be utilised for excision biopsies of lesions from the face, head, neck and vessels, Hypospadias repair, genital reconstruction work and tumour dissection . 

Beneficial for making delicate dissections and cutting along curved lines it is also popular within the disciplines of Maxillo-facial surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery and Periodontal surgery.
